All the same, those who actively live and work in Milwaukee understand that violent crime is more a product of media hype and mass hysteria than a actual constant danger to the population at-large. Those who try to use every act of violence in Milwaukee as a brush to paint us all as barbarians conveniently ignore such facts as the violent crime rate dropped 9% (national average was 2.5% decrease), including a 32% reduction (105 down to 71) in murders, in 2008 from 2007 according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports.

The heat just turned up in the Wisconsin Department of Justice, where Democratic Party of Wisconsin officials are alleging illegal campaign activities took place. From everything I have read about this project from the Wisconsin DOT and Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel story, the Zoo Interchange project is little more than a convenience project that would not provide a healthy return on investment to the Metro Milwaukee area (in my humble opinion) for five reasons.
